Is McCain Pro-Life
& Consequences To Unborn Of Losing
Is John McCain Pro-life? What would be the consequences
to another generation of unborn children if Barak Obama or
Hillary Clinton became president?
McCain Is
Pro-Life; Obama or Clinton Victory Disastrous To Unborn
It's impossible to understate the importance of this November's
presidential elections for the unborn and the pro-life
cause. There have been almost fifty million abortions since Roe
and although abortions are decreasing, there will be 1.2
million abortions this year. Another generation of unborn
children at risk to abortion is counting on our votes.
It is easy to sense the dissatisfaction many
pro-life voters have with the presumptive Republican Party
Nominee, Senator John McCain. McCain will be the only
significant pro-life opposition to face radical abortion
supporters Senator Barak Obama, or Senator Hillary
Clinton.
With the huge stakes that this election poses in
mind as we are within one vote of overturning Roe v. Wade,
the pro-lifer needs to know if John McCain is
adequately pro-life and what will be the consequences for
the unborn and the culture of life if either Hillary
Clinton or Barak Obama are elected
Is McCain pro-life? On abortion, the answer is
yes. Senator McCain makes Planned Parenthood's hair stand on end
and is an enemy of Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood
gives McCain a zero rating on abortion and has a special
section on their site called the "Worst
of John McCain Playlist" devoted to telling the voter
how "anti-choice" McCain is. "John
McCain is ardently anti- choice - he wants to make
abortion illegal and overturn Roe v. Wade."
Planned Parenthood also notes that Senator McCain says Roe
was a bad decision, opposes Title X funding, and supports
the Reagan-Bush Mexico City Policy of banning funding to
groups who perform, advocate for or recommend abortion as
a method of family planning in other nations. Planned
Parenthood also notes that McCain would have signed the
2006 South Dakota abortion ban, with exceptions for rape
and incest added to the life of the mother. McCain has
also voted to defund Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood is not McCain's only abortion enemy.
NARAL Pro- Choice America says "During his four years in the House, then
Rep. McCain cast 11 votes on abortion and other
reproductive-rights issues. Ten of these votes were
anti-choice. In the Senate, Sen. McCain has cast 117 votes
on abortion and other reproductive-rights issues, 113 of
which were anti-choice."
Whatever score card we examine, it's not hard to make the
case that Senator John McCain has solid pro-life
credentials.
The second question for the pro-lifer is
"what would the consequences be to the unborn if
Senator Hillary Clinton or
Barak Obama became President of the United States?"
On her first day in office, President Hillary Clinton
would immediately rescind the Mexico City Policy
and restore taxpayer funding to groups like Planned
Parenthood for their abortion promoting and abortion
providing efforts in other nations. Obama would not be far
behind. American dollars will be used to DEFEAT the
efforts of pro-lifers in other nations, change their laws
and abort their children.
President Clinton or Obama would reinstate
American taxpayer funding to the UN Population
Fund to support China's brutal forced abortion One Child
Policy. American tax dollars would be used to abort
Chinese babies and deprive women of their rights to have
more children. Some of those babies will be babies killed
not by abortion, but by infanticide.
President Obama and Clinton would
make nominations to fill vacant federal court openings with
pro-abortion judges.
The Republicans are likely to lose more seats in the House and
Senate, and with Harry Reid and the Democrats in charge of
the Senate, those appointments will be confirmed and
impact the court and the pro-life efforts of generations
to come.
President Obama or Clinton would sign legislation
lifting the Hyde Amendment which bans public funding for
abortion. They will fill their administrations with
pro-abortion advocates to not only impact domestic
policy, but foreign policy as well. The pro-life Bush
administration has stopped treaties to force nations to
provide abortion. Those efforts will be gone in an instant
and the American government will again be a leading
abortion promoter around the world.
With an Obama or Clinton presidency, military hospitals
will start doing abortions again. Obama and Clinton
would both sign the
Freedom of Choice Act, which would invalidate
Partial Birth Abortion and all other limits on abortion
including parental notification, conscience laws, informed
consent, taxpayer funding bans, political speech and more.
That would wipe out all the gains of the last 35 years
if the bill comes to President Clinton or Obama. Obama or
Clinton would certainly move against pro-life crisis
pregnancy centers too.
If that's not bad enough, the two oldest justices
on the Supreme Court are pro- abortion. President Obama
or Clinton will nominate pro-abortion Supreme Court
Justices to prop up Roe for decades and undermine the
last thirty-five years of our efforts.
A Clinton or Obama presidency would be a disaster for
the unborn.
The stakes are getting higher with each presidential race
and with the aging of the Supreme Court. These are things
the pro- lifer needs to keep in mind as we think about how
and whether or not we will vote this November as well as
how we will participate in the selection of our next
president. Another generation at risk to abortion is
counting on us. |
